As mentioned in almost every section of this website, sustainability, sustainable design and the affordable implementation of environmentally sensitive construction methodologies are of considerable importance to any Bird Architecture Project.

The practice is a member of the Green Register of Sustainable Professionals and the Associations of Environmentally Conscientious Builders, and actively attends seminars and events on a regular basis to keep up to date with developments in this quickly evolving aspect of the architectural profession.

A common misconception about sustainable design is that is is too expensive.   In carefully considered and site specific conversations, one of the first things the practice will do in engaging any new client is to discuss what kind of opportunities a project will have to start to directly address 'the climate emergency'.
